This post is more like a reshared post from Lucy, as I find what she wrote captivating. I added snapshots of her original post and the link to view it below:

I find what Lucy wrote captivating because it is true that people nowadays would take photos/videos of the situation rather than do something about it, even if it's safe for them to take action.

I'm not saying one needs to react in all situations because sometimes people don't need our "help". But in some situations, a doable action could be taken, though we get so stuck in our heads that we end up not doing anything. (I sometimes take too long in my thinking process that I end up not taking any action either, and I'm not proud about it.). :(

I'm not sure how it is elsewhere, but where I'm currently living, there is somewhat of a culture of "minding our own business", which is a good mindset to be in 80% of the time. However, because of that, sometimes people (me included) tend to avoid taking action, even though there is something one can do.

What I'm writing is a bit vague because I don't have a situation in my mind right now, but I want to continue challenging my thinking from: "Oh, maybe someone will do something" to "Let me see what I can do at this time". Because like the post mentioned above, we only need to do that one little thing, and it could save a life. Imagine that. You have the power to save a life.

But also, it's not always healthy to be in the saviour mindset because then, there is the ego problem, and you could end up doing more harm than help because people don't need to be "saved" generally. They might need some extra support or guidance for some time, but I am hopeful that most people have the power to do better if they put their minds to it. But in many cases, there is a structural and systemic barrier that could limit this potential...
