Black Lives Matter Movement
Following George Floyd's death on May 25, 2020, we are fighting for justice that hasn't been served for so long. It is time!
I lived in the Powderhorn neighborhood for about two years, and George was killed two blocks from where I lived. This event touched me in so many unexpected ways. I was sad, angry, overwhelmed, scared, just to name a few. The fight for justice will for sure take some time, and it is great that we are seeing a few improvements and changes in the system already, and I am hopeful that our generations will continue fighting and standing up against injustice to our communities. We are all humans, and we all deserve to live without fear.
