This book started with a very relatable story to those of us who recently graduated and struggled to find a "good" job or meaningful job. Mae Holland (the main character of the book) then got the opportunity to work at the Circle, through her best friend, Annie, and I thought it was a pretty advanced workplace. The workplace encourages career advancement, and great work benefits to the employees' families as well if needed. Then, the story got quite "chilling and scary" when Mae's role and her everyday lives become so transparent, everyone could see what she is doing, and where she is at, and that idea of everyone knowing everything about me scares me a lot. The book does a great job of showing how scary technology and access to personal data could become. Maybe that's because I also get paranoid about data security myself. But I highly recommend this book. It was a page-turner.
