This book was engaging and Ann touched on many important issues regarding race, economic security, poverty, and politics, just to name a few. There were a few twists, but Ann was so great at keeping the book engaging and exciting to follow the storyline. I'm not sure how to give summary without spoiling this book, but it was about how strangers could become family in a very unexpected time. It was a beautiful and inspiring book to me.
