Preventable death

Recently, one of my grandmothers passed away due to a traffic accident, and I couldn't stop thinking about how her death, along with many who died due to traffic accidents daily, could be prevented. A death that is not natural is even harder to process, I think because I keep on thinking that it could have been prevented, that the person could have stayed longer.
I tried to think of it from a few different perspectives, for example, in my understanding of Buddhism's way of thinking regarding death is that they have done their time and it is time for them to go. And maybe I shouldn't try to prevent/prolong anything, but death is still hard to take, even if I wasn't too close to the person.
The "drink-and-drive" culture is also not helping with reducing traffic accidents at all, and I noticed that more people, compared to 10 years ago, drink and drive in Cambodia, which is concerning. There might be peer pressure to drink to socialize and maintain friendships.
I can only pray and wish for safe travels for everyone. I don't really know how else to think about this to reduce anxiety and fear on this topic.
I hope you join me in drinking less alcohol in general and DO NOT drink and drive.
