Oh, the little things in life...

I enjoy watching kids doing their things. By "kids", I mean below 3 years old. Or maybe 5. You know, the age when they are not so influenced by their surroundings yet, and they are just living lives through their curiosity and keep on learning. I think it is a pure way of living.
Something I saw a few days ago, which inspired me to write this, was when I saw a girl next door (12 years old) playing with her youngest brother (a bit more than 1 year old). She sat him down on a skateboard and push him around slowly and carefully. The little boy was having so much fun and he was laughing so much, it was so much joy to watch him having fun. His laugh was contagious.
This is how I define living as a kid for now - curious, not caring about others, keeping doing what they want, etc. I enjoy watching them go about their lives because sometimes, I feel that I'm living life to fit in some boxes of what society or my environment has wanted for me, but not really what I want.
I also hope to remember that life is more fun when I enjoy and do the little things that bring me joy. Like biking, coloring, walking, and reading, to name a few.
I follow this page on Facebook (Simple Day), and I appreciate how the artist brings back my childhood memories, the things that I don't do anymore but brought me joy at that time. It is a good reminder for me to appreciate the normal things in life, rather than being too focused on something else... Maybe when I manage to do that, I'll feel freer and lighter to pursue what I hope to try and take it from there...
