I thought this book was a great read.
Dale Carnegie shared great tips and real-life stories to show how one went through and changed from worrying to living their life healthily and making the most out of this one life that we all got. I appreciate how the stories are relatable.
For example, on p. 30, Dale Carnegie wrote: "The anti-worry technique consists of three steps:
I analysed the situation fearlessly and honestly and figured out what was the worst that could happen as a result of this failure.
After figuring out what was the worst that could happen, I reconciled myself to accepting it, if necessary.
From that time on, I calmly devoted my time and energy to trying to improve upon the worst which I had already accepted mentally."
Even as I was reading it, I could already feel a bit lighter and relaxed.
There are many great points in the book that I want to remember and put into practice.
Though if I could sum up what I understand from the book in short, I'd say - try not to worry and take actions instead, occupy ourselves and our minds with actions so worry doesn't get in, and rest and take one thing at a time, because health comes first, always.
Worry could do a lot to our bodies and minds. I have had those episodes in my life and I'm trying to not have to go through it again. This book provided some helpful ways of thinking, so I really hope to put the knowledge into practice to stay well. Let's not overthink too often together. One thing at a time...
